Updated : catalogue scope, playing time, sound inclusions and booking checklist corrected.
Compare the line-up, included sets and sound scope together. HK Performer Pro lists a 3–4-person band at HK$16,100 per engagement and a 5-person band at HK$19,050; each includes two 45-minute sets. A per-engagement rate is not a per-set price, and playing time is not the full attendance window.
Our published rates and inclusions
| Line-up | Per engagement (HKD) | Included sets | Total playing time | Catalogue scope |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo singer | HK$5,420 | 2 × 20 min | 40 min | Confirm accompaniment and equipment in the quote |
| Duo band | HK$8,570 | 2 × 40 min | 80 min | Vocal + guitar, basic sound included |
| Band, 3–4 people | HK$16,100 | 2 × 45 min | 90 min | Full instruments and sound included |
| Band, 5 people | HK$19,050 | 2 × 45 min | 90 min | Full line-up with monitor sound |
These are our catalogue rates checked on 22 October 2026, not a Hong Kong market average. Confirm your date, venue and special requirements in a written quote. The 3–4-person and 5-person entries include sound as described; do not automatically budget another complete sound system. Confirm accompaniment and equipment for a solo singer separately.
How two sets fit into your running order
Two sets: 45 + 45 = 90 minutes of music
Confirm separately: arrival → setup and soundcheck → set 1 → agreed interval → set 2 → teardown.
Mark the moments that need music, such as reception and a post-awards set, alongside speeches, dinner service and prize draws. Agree the start and finish of each set plus arrival, soundcheck and teardown. Also confirm whether recorded music runs during the interval and who operates it.
Choose the sound before choosing the headcount
Decide whether guests should be able to talk over background music or actively join the performance. Review the proposed vocals, instruments, language, musical style and actual performance samples. A 3–4-person listing does not guarantee four people; confirm whether the singer is counted and name the agreed instruments in the quote.
Guest count alone cannot specify the band. Share the room layout, performance position, dance floor, available space and venue sound limits. Ask the venue and technical team to confirm fit rather than applying a universal guest threshold or stage footprint.

Venue and equipment handover checklist
- Performance area: provide dimensions, a floor plan and venue photographs; confirm access routes.
- Equipment: identify speakers, mixer, microphones, monitors, connections and operators. Separate band-supplied items, venue equipment and additional hire.
- Soundcheck: agree access, power and connections with the venue and technical team, including noise limits and finish restrictions.
- Load-in: provide loading access, lift and stair details, floors and setup/teardown windows. For outdoor events, agree a venue-approved weather alternative.
Extra sets, additional engagements and song requests
The catalogue add-on unit is an additional engagement. It is not one extra set or an hourly rate per musician. Request a written scope and price for one more set, a later finish, a separate rehearsal or a special arrangement. Do not multiply the additional-engagement rate as if it were an extra-set rate, or assume that advance booking always carries a discount.
List the songs, languages and musical style you want, and mark the cues for entrances, toasts, awards or the final set. The team needs to confirm repertoire, arrangements and rehearsal requirements; requests are not an assurance that every song can be performed on the night.

Questions to settle before booking
How much does live band hire cost in Hong Kong?
HK Performer Pro catalogue rates checked on 22 October 2026 are HK$5,420 for a solo singer (2×20 minutes), HK$8,570 for a duo (2×40 minutes), HK$16,100 for 3–4 people and HK$19,050 for 5 people (both 2×45 minutes). Each is per engagement; confirm the date, venue and additional requirements in the written quote.
Do two 45-minute sets cover a three-hour event?
They provide 90 minutes of playing time. Arrival, setup, soundcheck, the interval and departure need a separately agreed schedule. Neither continuous three-hour music nor a three-hour attendance window is implied.
Is sound equipment included?
The catalogue includes basic sound with the duo, full instruments and sound with the 3–4-person band, and monitor sound with the 5-person band. Confirm venue coverage, connections, operators and the equipment list before adding separate sound hire.
Is an additional engagement the same as an extra set?
No. The catalogue add-on unit is an additional engagement, not one set or an hourly fee per musician. Ask for a written scope and price for a single extra set, a later finish or a changed schedule.
